QuickBooks must be installed on the same workstation as our program; in addition, our QuickBooks company file must be open for any of our programs to run against it. A few of our programs do offer the option to automatically connect to a specified company file.
If this is the first time you're trying to sync our program with QuickBooks you will be given a prompt in QuickBooks to grant our program permission to access your company file.
If you are unsure or need to check a program's access permission in QuickBooks, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Integrated Applications, click on Company Preferences, select AccessBooks RT and click Properties. Our program must be granted access to your company file to run correctly.
NOTE FOR VISTA USERS: Vista's User Access Control must be enabled for any third party QuickBooks plugin to run. You can change your User Access Control in the Control Panel under User Accounts.
Unfortunately, this is due to a bug in QuickBooks. Please try the following:
1. Make a backup of your company file and keep it in a safe location so you can rollback in case there is a problem
2. Close QuickBooks
3. Browse to the folder where the .QBW file is stored
4. Create a folder named Backup
5. Select all files EXCEPT the .QBW file that have the same name as the .QBW file (i.e if the file is Test.QBW then select Test.QBW.TLG, Test.lgb, etc.)
6. Move the selected files to the Backup folder you created in step 4
7. Make sure to set qbsdk.ini to level=debug, and delete the qbsdklog.txt file (so we have a fresh debug log for this run) located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks\ for XP and in C:\Programdata\Intuit\QuickBooks for Vista.
8. Start QuickBooks
9. Open the company file
10. Edit/Preferences/Integrated Applications/Company Preferences...
11. Remove the record for our program
12. Close the Preferences window
13. Connect with our program - do NOT specify unattended mode
14. Edit/Preferences/Integrated Applications/Company Preferences...
15. Select our program and click Properties
16. Set unattended mode up for the user admin
17. Close Preferences
18. Close QuickBooks
19. Try connecting our program to QuickBooks, unattended mode should now work

Your user name and password are not required because all access permissions are set in QuickBooks when our program first syncs with QuickBooks. If you wish to change the access permission for our program, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Integrated Applications, click on Company Preferences, select our program and click Properties.
